Manassas, Virginia Community Information


For those of you that enjoy a faster paced life, Manassas is quite capable of providing you an exciting life with lots of twists and turns. Located in spectacular Prince William County, Manassas is one of Northern Virginia’s mid-sized communities with close to 37,000 residents today. Manassas has a wide mix of cultures offering an abundance of culturally related activities, restaurants, and Historic places. Additionally, Manassas is a hub of entertainment and events throughout the year for many Northern Virginia residents.



The Loy E. Harris Pavilion provides opportunities for outdoor ice skating from November through March every winter. During the hot summer months your family may also enjoy entertaining concerts, festivals, and community events all hosted within the Loy E. Harris Pavilion. The Manassas Heritage Railway Festival provides opportunities to learn about railroad history, view railroad memorabilia, and children’s rides and activities the first weekend in June each year. There is also a festival in the streets of Old Town Manassas the first weekend in June. A summer concert series can be enjoyed by your entire family on the lawn of the Manassas Museum from June through September each year as well. And finally, the Prince William County Fair, which is the largest Fair in the state of Virginia, is held each August.

If you are interested in maintaining an active outdoor lifestyle there are plenty of opportunities available to you in Manassas, Virginia. There are multiple parks in Manassas including Ben Lomond Park, Joseph D Reading Park, Reading County Park, Cavalry Run Park, Jennie Dean Park, and Baker Street Park. If you enjoy hiking be sure to visit Ben Lomond Regional Park to use its extensive hiking trail system. It is also home to a large community center with meeting rooms and a dance studio. For the tennis enthusiast, visit Joseph D Reading Park, Cavalry Run Park, or Jennie Dean Park for a game or two amongst friends. Nelson Park is a beautiful setting with a gazebo and fountain where you can relax and enjoy the wonder of nature. If you enjoy roller hockey, Kinsley Mill Park has a roller hockey court. During the hot summer months visit Stonewall Park for a dip in the swimming pool. And finally, Old Town Skate Park provides a venue for skateboarders and roller bladers to hone their skills. And of course, many Manassas parks offer playgrounds and playscapes for the kiddies.

There are also a few golf courses in Manassas including Manassas Hills Golf Club, a 9-hole course, and Manassas Park Public Golf Course, an 18-hole course. Both are public golf courses with a driving range and rental carts available. Manassas Park Public Golf Course does accept tee times; however, Manassas Hills Golf Club does not.


Great shopping can be found throughout Manassas, however, you won’t want to miss Old Town Manassas with its unique shops and eateries. Additionally, check out the Manassas Mall for a great indoor shopping experience.
