Reston, Virginia Community Information
  
Located in Northern Virginia, Reston was founded in the 1970’s on 6750 acres of Fairfax County land, 1,300 of those acres are designated areas of open space. Outdoor recreation, as with all Virginian towns, is important in Reston. There are 55 miles of footpaths and trails throughout the City of Reston. The city has been divided into four distinctive districts, each district with its own schools, parks and recreation areas, Village Centers, lakes and ponds, and additional amenities such as golf courses, pools, and trail access -- Hunters Woods / Dogwood, Lake Anne / Tall Oaks, North Point, and South Lakes – that fall within the Reston Association which manages the common areas for all Districts (see Reston Association). Within each District, there are many Clusters that have their own Association (see Reston Association Cluster Handbook). The Reston Town Center offering condo/retail living and Reston Hospital and Medical Offices complete the rural and city environment you can find close to the Dulles Technology Corridor, Dulles Toll Road, and Dulles International Airport.
